to find out more about this time and the book had lots of information. I also liked the comic strip ’’Hanno the explorer’’ which is about a man called Hanno who explored the coast of Africa in the 6th century. The pictures are really colourful and fun. The only thing I don’’t like about the book is it’’s hard to read it in bed because it’’s so big, but I still managed to most nights! I’’d recommend this book to people who maybe think they don’’t like History so that they could learn a bit more and I’’d also recommend it to people who do like history because it’’s great! ’

’This amazing history factbook, is colourful and provides interesting infomation without being boring or patronizing - want to find out about Lucy the ape - then read the suspect lineup! The book is well put together with facts and pictures together, but could be too graphic for 8 years olds in comic strips.’

’Colourful, jazzy, and extremely engaging, this book will surely appeal to today’’s computer-savvy youngsters. The way that each subject is presented will immediately catch their attention. Computer screens, comic book formats, cartoons, jigsaws and even social networking sites are just a handful of the many original ways that readers can access the material. Every page is bursting with colour and interest. I wish we’’d had such a book in the house when our children were younger. It’’s an excellent first port of call for discussion, homework or simply for dipping in. Although it’’s aimed at the 8-12 age group, I’’m sure any child able to read would find something to interest them. Older children might want more depth of subject but it would still constitute a good starting point for their studies. Also a great book for sharing with my grand children on all sorts of levels.’ |
